Happy New Year from New York City! So, if you're in NYC in the winter, and you have absolutely no desire to pack in with the rest of the frozen herd in Times Square, what do you do for fun? A lot.
Take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge; yes it's also freezing, but it's a man made marvel with spectacular views. I couldn't help but notice the thousands of bolts that hold it together, and think of the workers who worked in that same spot back in the day, cranking bolts year-round.
Enjoy a dusting of snow on the Brooklyn Bridge
If that's too cold, there's plenty to do in doors. Contrary to the popular statement, good people are not hard to come by, especially in a place with so many people. So gather some friends, stretch a canvas across a wall and get your wine-splatter on. Or see some really good art at the MoMA, that's indoors, too.
